Little Hen

About Little Hen
Little Hen is an English-inspired breakfast and brunch boutique. It features dreamy, English-inspired designs to convey a dedication to high-quality ingredients and fresh food through an adorable space of soft pastels, homely accents and luxurious touches. With locations in both Midtown Miami and Weston, the restaurant has achieved significant growth after only just opening in 2020, becoming a brunch favorite for Miami locals and toursits alike.

What I Got
I first visited Little Hen in November 2020 to celebrate my 25 birthday, or my silver jubilee. Keeping the English theme in mind, we made reservations ahead of time for Little Hen’s “Afternoon Tea.” At $35 per person ($40 pp for a glass of Prosecco and $52 pp for a glass of Champagne), you are presented with a lavish array of tea party delights which can include a selection of petits fours, french macarons, mini finger sandwiches (chicken salad, tuna salad, egg salad and salmon & cucumber) and warm berry scones. Your tray of treats is accompanied by a fresh pot of tea with options including Chamomile, Earl Grey, Jasmine Cloud, Meng Ding Green Tea, Santana, Little Hen House Tea and the expected English Breakfast.

Since then, I have been to Little Hen on at least three more occasions because I have fallen in love with their Rose Petal Pancakes. A scroll through the restaurant’s Instagram feed will prove that these pancakes are a popular option and I believe it is what makes Little Hen unique. As the name suggests, these pancakes are a sweet and light rose petal concoction covered with powder sugar and rose water infused maple syrup on the side, making them more than what meets the eye. While I would highly suggest you always try the most popular option at a restaurant the first time you go, these pretty pink pancakes may not be your style. The Chicken and Waffle plate was another wonderful surprise as the waffle was a delicious buttermilk flavor and the crispy fried chicken was perfectly seasoned. As Little Hen offers endless breakfast and brunch options, you can’t go wrong with whatever you end up choosing.

Reason to Go
If you’re like me and have fallen in love with all things Bridgerton, endlessly day-dreaming about living in the Regency era, Little Hen is perfect for you. This idyllic spot will allow you to embrace that floral, high tea, finger sandwich, macaron-eating lifestyle you were meant for. The staff are incredibly accommodating, the decorations are perfect for photo ops and the food is just as tasty as it looks.

Little Hen is a popular brunch spot so as expected, it is best to make reservations when available as the weekends are their busiest days. For more information and to see the menu, visit their website here.
