What I Got
I visited Le Chick for a Sunday brunch, so it was only right that we ordered bottomless mimosas. More spirited drinkers will appreciate the menu’s endless options of cocktails, wine and beer selections. To eat, we selected the Chicken & Waffles that promised crispy buttermilk fried chicken paired with homemade waffles and a brown butter maple syrup with whipped cream cheese. The Chick Avocado Toast was another go-to item that did not disappoint. The lemon infused avocado spread is topped with pickled onions and radishes and served on slices of crispy Sullivan Street Bakery bread. I also opted to add a poached egg. The highlight of the entire meal came at the end with dessert to no one’s surprise. After seeing table after table being presented with a mason jar surprise, we asked our server about the popular and highly recommended Chocolate Goodie Jar. Inside the mason jar you will find layers of a rich brownie, warm chocolate fudge, Lotus Biscuit pieces and white chocolate chips buried under a scoop of Midtown Creamery vanilla ice cream. Is your mouth watering yet? Though not the most photogenic dessert, the Goodie Jar made up for that in other departments. This concoction, as it can only be described in this magical way, was out of this world. I think about this goodie jar quite often and my only regret was that I couldn’t finish it.

Reason to Go
If not for the artfully curated dishes, then go for the promising brunch and happy hour vibes. Although brunch is exclusive to Sunday afternoons, this only adds to Le Chick’s elusiveness. Something to keep in mind is that the restaurant does not make substitutions nor are you able to significantly alter your meal. If you are looking for a sophisticated dining experience, Le Chick is the way to go. With this in mind, you can expect aesthetically pleasing presentation, but smaller portions when it comes to your meal. For those looking to visit on a weekend, it’s best to make a reservation, especially for those that fall on a holiday.
