Shana’s Quick Picks: Surry Hills Miami

Surry Hills Miami
My mom always says that good food is a result of the intentional energy that someone puts into preparing that food for you, and my first sit down brunch at Surry Hills was the best example of that being true.

Surry Hills is a Sydney-inspired café offering Australian Brunch and specialty coffee in the Little River area. Ranked as one of the World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops of 2025, one visit to their Miami location will help you see why.

Our host was more than willing to recommended menu items for us to try, enthusiastically sharing small anecdotes and highlights of both their favorite dishes, as well as those most often requested and highly revered by customers.

The “Eggs Benny Croissant” was a noteworthy dish, served with two soft boiled eggs and slices of turkey, decorated with dill, spinach, and a mint Hollandaise Turmeric sauce that will make you want for nothing, not even additional condiments. The “Egg & Sausage Sandwich”, though quite simple and to the point in its composition, delivered a surprising burst of flavor with a tender proper sausage patty and pillowy scrambled eggs, all topped with an incredibly soft brioche bun. The “Salmon Feta Toast” is an obvious crowd pleaser with layers of whipped feta and smoked salmon, as well as sprinklings of caperberries, pickles and fresh dill evenly spread over sourdough and a perfectly soft-boiled egg on top.

My favorite item and the one that first put Surry Hills on my radar is the Blueberry muffin, a must try at the end of your meal or a stand-alone option with a warm drink of your choice.

Overall, our meal and time at Surry Hills was more than enjoyable, made all the better due to the exceptional service we received from our host. The menu, while simple at first glance, does an excellent job of mastering artisanal crafted drinks and brunch basics with an Australian flair.
