Shana’s Quick Picks: Jon & Vinny’s Miami

Jon and Vinny’s
Jon & Vinny’s, the popular LA hotspot, has opened in Miami as a part of a residency at the Rubell Museum in the Allapattah neighborhood near downtown. The dishes are best enjoyed family style, so we ordered the raved about “Ricotta” toasted bread topped with orange blossom honey and sesame seeds as well as their version of the classic Caesar salad — gem lettuce dressed with Calabrian chili, parmesan, and bread crumbs (note: this may be the best Caesar salad you’ll ever have).

The “Ham and Easy” pie was pizza heaven with smoked ham, vodka sauce, red onion, caciocavallo, smoked mozzarella, and pickled fresno chilies while the Spicy Fusilli was a simple yet deliciously well done alternative and potential rival to Carbone’s spicy rigatoni vodka dish. My least favorite moment of the evening was dessert, simply because it was a reminder that our meal was coming to an end, but the Strauss Family Creamery soft serve (a mix of both vanilla and chocolate) helped a great deal in making the goodbye a little sweeter.

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our meal and can’t wait to come back to try their other pizza pies and menu items!

  1. Thank you for making a post about Jon & Vinny’s. It’s a place that I have been meaning to check out for some time now, but didn’t prioritize, but based on how you described the food, it’s definitely a must-visit now. Can’t wait to try them out!
